Privacy-first commitment
LevelHeadedApp is built for one user: you. Your journal entries, check-ins, and rewrites are private to your account. They are never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
What we collect
Account data (email, display name), in-app content you create (vent entries, check-ins, triggers, rewrites), and minimal usage data needed to keep the service running. We do not collect contacts, location, or device identifiers for tracking. If you rate a tool ("did that help?"), we store only your rating, the fixed reason you tap, which tool it was, and the content version — never the text you wrote.
How we use it
To run the service, generate AI analyses you request, maintain streaks and your control score, and process payments. We do not train AI models on your private content.
AI processing
When you use AI features, the text you submit is sent to our AI provider solely to generate the response. We do not include your name, email, or account ID in those prompts. Providers may retain prompts and outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring under their own data policies; we do not permit your content to be used to train their models.
Data storage and security
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, and access is restricted to your account through database row-level security. Backups are encrypted at rest. This is not end-to-end encryption: our infrastructure providers technically hold the keys, and a small number of authorized administrators can access data when required to operate or support the service.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with processors strictly needed to run the service (hosting, payments, AI).
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We store a session token so you stay signed in, a small amount of local/session storage for in-progress drafts and preferences, and — if you arrived through a partner link — a referral identifier for up to 30 days so the partner can be credited. Clearing your browser storage removes all of these and signs you out.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or restrict processing of your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email privacy@levelheadedapp.com to exercise these rights.
Data retention and deletion timelines
Account content is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, entries, check-ins, triggers, rewrites, quiz results, and tool history are removed from the live database immediately — typically within seconds and no later than 30 days. Encrypted backups roll off on a 30-day cycle, so a copy may persist in backup storage for up to 30 days after deletion before it is overwritten; it is not restored to the live service. Payment and tax records are retained by our payment processor for as long as the law requires (generally up to 7 years). Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Children and young people
LevelHeadedApp is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. There is no teen or guardian-supervised mode in production. If you believe a minor has created an account, email privacy@levelheadedapp.com and we will delete the account and its data.
International users
By using LevelHeadedApp, you agree that your data may be processed in the country where our infrastructure is hosted.
Changes
Material changes will be announced in-app.
